FCCU Flue Gas Diverter Valves
Flue Gas Diverter Valves are engineered for precise and reliable control of flue gas flow within FCCU systems. Each valve includes one inlet port and two outlet ports—directing gas either to the CO boiler or the stack using a rotating disc mechanism to isolate flow paths as needed.

TapcoEnpro offers multiple diverter valve styles to meet the specific demands of your FCCU system. Selection is based on factors such as process licensor design, available space, flow direction, and weight restrictions.
Diverter Valve Types
- Pendulum Valve - Slides a disc from one outlet port to the other to divert flue gas flow. This is the most commonly used design due to its simple and robust mechanism.
- Linear Valve - Uses a stem that moves directly in the flow path to redirect gas. Less common in new applications due to space and wear considerations.
- Butterfly Valve - Offers a lightweight design ideal for retrofit application, typically weighing one-third as much as a linear or pendulum valve.
- Flip-Flop Valve - Alternates flue gas flow between two outlets using a dual-disc design. Simple movement with minimal wear, suitable for specific layout constraints.
Each diverter valve style is engineered to ensure reliable operation in high-temperature, and erosive environments common in FCCU units.
All valves are available in either cold shell or hot shell design and operation of the valve can be with an electro-hydraulic actuator system, electric motor or pneumatic since the action is open / close and not flow control.

Industry Challenge We Have Solved
In retrofit applications; most all valves are replaced in kind unless weight becomes a factor. The Butterfly Diverter Valve is typically half to one third the weight of a linear or pendulum valve and is considered a reliable application.
